Rapid Economic Development in China
Since the implement of the policy of reform and opening-up in
1978, Chinese economy witnessed dramatic development. The economy in
China has been growing 7.7% per year since 1997, which makes China the
fastest economic developing country. The entry of WTO in 2001 enhanced
China’s process of openness and globalization.
Vigorous Program of Education
With five thousand years’ history, China attached high
importance on education since the Confucius’ time. After the foundation
of People’s Republic of China, a complete education system was
established to cultivate talents in different specialities so as to make
contribution to development of human society and improvement of
national quality.
Time-honored History and Splendid Culture
China is the origin of oriental culture; so many Asian cultures
can trace their root back to Chinese culture. With profound classical
philosophy, diversified classical literature, unique food culture,
famous places of interest, China not only inherited the traditional
culture, but also paved a way of modernization for the traditional
culture.
Embracing Oversea Students around the World
International students studying in China is invariably highly
concerned by Chinese government. In 1950, international students were
accepted in China. After the implement of the policy of reform and
opening-up, the number of international students studying in China
increased rapidly. Statistics shows that there were altogether 141
thousand international students from 190 countries studying in 31
provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the
central government in 2005, including junior college students,
undergraduate students, master degree candidates, doctoral candidates
and language students, advanced students and scholars. International
students from all over the world are warm welcomed to study in China.
